BEND, Ore. — Les Schwab Tires has acquired Pete's Road Service Inc., a predominantly commercial tire business with 10 service centers and a retread plant in southern California.
Founded in 1969 by Pete Fletcher as a gas station and tire shop, Pete's Road Service is considered the 35th largest commercial tire dealership in the U.S., based on estimated 2023 sales of more than $50 million, according to Tire Business' annual rankings.
Fullerton, Calif.-based Pete's Road Service is allied with Michelin North America Inc. and has been a Marangoni Tread retreader since 2019. It also operates a warehouse/distribution center focused on small commercial fleets. The dealership employs 175.
The company will continue to operate as Pete's Road Service under Les Schwab Tires ownership.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

No changes to staffing are planned at either company following the acquisition, the dealership said.
Les Schwab operates more than 560 locations throughout Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
With commercial-related revenue of $384 million in fiscal 2023, Les Schwab is considered the sixth-largest independent commercial tire dealership in the U.S., according Tire Business' annual rankings.
