KEARNEY, Neb. — Leeds West Groups (LWG) is expanding its network of Midas Auto Service & Tires outlets in Nebraska with the acquisition of a long-established store in Kearney.
The acquisition expands LWG's Midas presence in Nebraska to five locations and to 88 nationwide.
LWG is buying the Midas franchise and real estate from Cooperative Producers Inc., a Kearney, Neb.-based farmer-owned agriculture cooperative that is divesting its franchise automotive interest after running it for 29 years.
Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed. LWG takes ownership April 1.
The Kearney store will be under the district management of Bob King, who oversees LWG's Omaha Midas region.
While Cooperative Producers is selling the Midas store, it continues to operate 10 tire and auto service locations under the Mr. Tire retail program offered by K&M Tire Inc.
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based LWG also operates 23 Big O Tires outlets, pushing its retail tire/automotive service holdings to over 100, which places it among the 15 largest such businesses in the U.S., according to Tire Business calculations.
