Mike Schaffner founded in 1949 in Peerless Tyre (sic) in 1949 as a two-pump gas station in Globeville, Colo. The company eventually set up a tire division, Direct Sales Tire Co., which evolved into Peerless Tire Co. in 1986. Four years later, Schaffner sold the company to Sam Forbes who continued to operate the dealership.
According to Gills Point S, Forbes has worked for the company since his high school days and grew the organization "into one of the most reputable retailers in the industry."
