CHICAGO — Commercial Tire Service, a Chicago-based commercial dealership and retreader with eight outlets, has aligned itself with Goodyear to help expand Goodyear's presence in the Midwest.
The alignment allows Goodyear to expand its Goodyear Commercial Tire Service network in large, rapidly growing urban market, "where fleets are feeling particular pressure to stay on the road and deliver needed products," Dave Beasley, vice president, North America Commercial, said.
"This alignment is a great fit for both companies, as we share a passion for providing the highest level of service to fleets."
With eight locations throughout the Chicago metro area, CTS is considered one of the area's most successful independent commercial dealerships, providing a full line of services to truck and fleet customers, including truck alignments, wheel refurbishing and retreading, Goodyear said.
The acquired locations will complement seven Goodyear Commercial Tire Service outlets already in the Chicago area. CTS's are primarily north and west of Chicago, while Goodyear's are more to the south and east.
Commercial Tire Service operates a Goodyear authorized retread plant at its Melrose Park, Ill., location. The company's website also references Oliver Rubber as a retread systems supplier, but Goodyear's announcement does not mention this connection.
The dealership operates 50 service trucks to service customers and provide 24/7 roadside service.
"Commercial Tire Service is excited to be part of the Goodyear family," said Paul Pavia, owner of Commercial Tire Service. "The combination of Goodyear's quality product lines and our signature service is the perfect partnership for success."
This alignment follows by four months Goodyear's acquisition of Raben Tire Co. of Evansville, Ind.
