WHITEVILLE, N.C. — Black's Tire Service (BTS) Inc. has acquired a retail and service location in South Carolina, its 60th overall throughout the Carolinas.
The family-run dealership, celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, recently acquired A-Plus Auto Sales and Service, located in Longs, S.C. The dealership was previously owned by the Norris family, who operated at the location for 25 years.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition comes a couple of months after BTS opened its latest satellite distribution center, a 30,000 sq.ft.-facility in Fayetteville, N.C.
The facility is the 10th distribution center in BTS' wholesale operation. The space is being leased.
"It's just another way for us to service our partner dealers," Ricky Benton, vice president of sales and marketing, said.
BTS operates 72 locations, including a retread facility and the company headquarters in Whiteville.
