INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Tire Centers Inc. — dba Best-One of Indy — is growing again, acquiring a pair of locations of fellow Indiana dealership R&T Tire & Auto Service.
Financial terms of the deal, which will be finalized April 1, were not disclosed.
The locations in Noblesville, a retail outlet, will be renamed Best-One of Indy, while the location in Tipton, a retail, commercial and farm outlet, will be renamed Best-One of Tipton.
Best-One of Indy, celebrating 35 years in business as a Best-One member, now will have 13 locations in central Indiana.
R&T Tire & Auto Service was founded in 1965 by Ray and Tom Alexander, a father-son duo. Fifty-six years later, Tom Alexander decided the timing was right to sell, according to Best-One due to "having the right people in place who would take care of his team members."
Best-One of Indy — part of the multi-statewide Best-One Tire network — said it is important customers understand "it is business as usual with the same great local people, same great service and quality products that R&T Tire's raving fans have come to trust over the years."
Tom Alexander's son-in-law and daughter, Jim and Tina Kitchel, both longtime employees, will remain on board.
Rich Elliott, president of Best-One of Indy, said his company is looking forward "to continuing the legacy that Tom Alexander and his family have built in the communities of Noblesville and Tipton, Indiana — delivering superior customer service and being a trusted provider of retail, commercial and agricultural tires."
The dealership was recognized by Tire Business in 2020 as one of the Best Places to Work 2020.
Best-One, founded in 1948 by Paul Zurcher in Monroe, Ind., has more than 275 locations in in its network in 26 states.
