Alma Tire acquires Jerry's Tire in Michigan

ALMA, Mich. — Alma Tire Companies (ATC) has acquired Jerry's Tire, a family-owned company with four commercial service locations in Flint, Lake Odessa, Troy and Wyoming, Mich.

The acquisition expands ATC's commercial tire and fleet service network to nine locations in Michigan.

ATC offers heavy truck repair and fleet maintenance, Bandag retreading and retail, commercial and OTR/ag tire sales and services in Michigan.

The acquired locations join ATC's ATS Fleet Service network with service centers in Alma, Gaylord, Mount Pleasant, Saginaw and a mobile tire service in Traverse City.

ATC also operates Modern Mechanics shops, which provide automotive repair and maintenance out of three locations: in Alma, Lansing and Mt. Pleasant.

Jerry's Tire, founded in 1948, evolved from a gas station into one of the area's major farm tire dealerships. The dealership also provided commercial and automotive tire services.

ATC had its beginnings in 1957 when Richard and Mary Grace bought a stake in Bill Murray's Garage in Mt. Pleasant. The Graces eventually moved the business headquarters to Alma and renamed it Alma Tire Service. Today, the company consists of three divisions: Alma Tire Distribution, Modern Mechanics and ATS Fleet Service.
