    • Creditors hire ex-Kumho Tire CEO as new chairman

      SEOUL, South Korea — Korea Development Bank, the lead of a Kumho Tire Co. Inc. creditors group, has appointed former Kumho Tire CEO Kim Jong-Ho as the new chairman of the company, effective Dec. 1.

    • Michelin buys tire recycler Lehigh Technologies

      GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin North America Inc. has acquired scrap tire processor Lehigh Technologies Inc. as part of its strategy to help to foster the use of recycled rubber materials in tire and non-tire applications.

    • Weld Racing buys Forgestar custom wheel business

      KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Weld Racing L.L.C. has acquired Forgestar Performance Wheels, a producer of one-piece flow-formed wheels, in a move Weld said will strengthen both brands' position in the custom, tuner and boutique aftermarket wheel market.

      NORCROSS, Ga.— Tire barcode label maker FineLine Technologies Inc. has acquired Data2 Corp., a St. Louis-based global service bureau provider of barcode and RFID tags and labels.

    • Kenda acquires Danish wheel maker Starco

      REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Taiwan's Kenda Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd. has acquired Starco Europe A/S, a Brabrand, Denmark-based supplier of wheels for applications ranging from wheelbarrows and mowers to large agricultural and industrial machinery.

    • Berkshire Hathaway to buy stake in Pilot Flying J

      OMAHA, Neb. — Berkshire Hathaway Inc. will acquire a minority interest in Pilot Travel Centers L.L.C., which does business as truck stop chain Pilot Flying J, and, by 2023, will become majority owner of the company.

    • Apollo refutes report touting Kumho bid

      MUMBAI, India Apollo Tyres Ltd. is refuting published reports in India that it is considering a bid for the shares of Kumho Tire Co. Inc. that a South Korean banking consortium has for sale.
