NEW YORK (Aug. 26, 2014) — Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP) has launched version 1.0 of the SMP Parts mobile app, available both for Android and Apple devices at the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively.
The SMP Parts app allows a user to input part numbers, vehicle year, make, model and engine to search for parts. In addition, it includes a WIN scanner to make vehicle entry easier, SMP said, adding that every search can be saved for future reference.
According to SMP, one of the most unique components of the app is its UPC scan utility, which allows counter persons and technicians to scan the UPC code on any SMP-brand box and receive content associated with that part number—including images, installation instructions, videos, part specs, related parts and more.
“We are very excited about version 1.0 of our new SMP Parts app,” said Phil Hutchens, vice president of marketing for SMP. “The new SMP Parts app features a robust and flexible catalog lookup, and one of the most exciting features is the ability to search all SMP brands at once. We believe this will be a very useful tool for our customers.”
