FAIRLAWN, Ohio (Aug. 8, 2014) — Trelleborg Wheel Systems has launched its Interfit USA website, designed to enable consumers to buy forklift tires and provide guidance on their selection and fitment.
Trelleborg said the Interfit website is easy to use and does not require tire consumers to have any knowledge of tires. Customers just log onto the site and select the “find forklift tires” tool. They will be asked some basic information about their forklift and average hours of usage and then a list of available tires is provided.
After a tire is selected, the consumer is walked through scheduling and payments for the tire. The ordering process takes a matter of minutes to complete, according to Trelleborg.
“The Internet has changed the way we purchase goods,” said Jason Canning, program manager. “The array of products we are able to purchase online has exploded.
“We believe forklift tires should be no different. Through our 500-plus nationwide Interfit authorized service providers, we will be providing consumers with the ability to purchase our tires installed on their vehicles for the very first time.”
Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?
|I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.||
|I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.||
|I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.||
|I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.||
|I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.||
