RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2014) — Falken Tire Corp. launched a nationwide rebate promotion today for its Ziex ZE950 All-Season tire.

The deal—which runs through Sept. 30—offers consumers a $50 rebate when purchasing a set of four Ziex ZE950 A/S tires.

Falken is calling the rebate promo “More Miles, More Savings,” and said it will advertise it in national consumer magazines and also will promote it at dealer locations.

Launched this past February, the Ziex ZE950 A/S is Falken’s first tire to be introduced in 95 different sizes, from 15-inch to 20-inch wheel diameters, the Rancho Cucamonga-based tire marketer said. The tire cover more than 93 percent of the total U.S. vehicle market and includes 33 individual crossover utility vehicle (CUV) sizes.

The ZE950 A/S is backed by a 65,000-mile limited warranty for the H- and V-Speed-rated line-up.

“Sales of the ZIEX ZE950 A/S have been excellent since our launch,” said Rick Brennan, Falken’s executive director of marketing.

“However, we believe offering a rebate on the ZE950 will enable even more consumers to consider the tire and the Falken brand.”

Customers taking advantage of the “More Miles, More Savings” promotion must either submit a rebate form by mail, including their original store receipt showing the purchase of four Ziex ZE950 A/S tires, or they may apply online at www.falken.rapid rebates.com/ consumer/USA.

Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?

I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.

I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.

I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.

I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.

I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.
