FOSTER CITY, Calif. (July 30, 2014) — The California Tire Dealers Association’s (CTDA) 3rd Annual Soccer Tournament in Los Angeles drew a large turnout for the community event.
More than 200 people — including business owners, players, families and friends — attended the tournament, which was sponsored by Pirelli Tire North America Inc.
Ten teams participated in the event, with nine represented by employees of local dealerships that, according to the CTDA, account for hundreds of millions of dollars in sales revenue.
The CTDA’s event co-chairman, Chris Barry, called the tournament “a unique opportunity to socialize — root for your team and friends.”
Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge presented a certificate of recognition to Pirelli in appreciation of the tire maker’s participation and sponsorship of the tournament.
Event Co-Chairman Bill Fuqua said, “This is a beautiful way to start a tournament with a local dignitary, Pirelli models and 10 enthusiastic soccer teams ready to do their utmost to win the tournament.”
The CTDA called the tournament a success and said it looked forward to holding the event again in 2015.
