MELKSHAM, England (June 4, 2014) — Cooper Tire Europe Ltd. has hired industry veteran Derek Carruthers to be its sales and marketing director, responsible for sales, marketing, pricing and customer service.
Mr. Carruthers began his career in the tire industry at Pirelli U.K. Ltd. before moving to Bridgestone Europe, where he was divisional director, consumer products Europe. Most recently he was sales and marketing director for the new car tires division of Marangoni S.p.A., which phased out its new tire business last year.
Based at the company’s European technical center in Melksham, he will report to Managing Director Jeff Schumaker.
“Having gained a wealth of experience in tire sales over the last 25 years, [Mr. Carruthers’] tire industry knowledge, as well as strengths in strategic planning and business development, makes him an excellent fit for this position,” Mr. Schumaker said.
