RAMAT-HASHARON, Israel (May 5, 2014) — Tire manufacturing equipment supplier Pelmar Engineering Ltd. has hired Joseph Anglister, former chairman and CEO of Alliance Tire Co. (1992) Ltd., as its chief executive officer.
The Ramat-Hasharon-based supplier of new and used equipment and engineering services for the tire and rubber products industries, said Hagai Peled would continue to manage the group’s sales and marketing worldwide.
Mr. Anglister headed Alliance Tire from 2003-10, during which time the Israeli maker of farm, industrial and OTR tires was acquired by private equity company Warburg Pincus L.L.C. and Yogesh Mahansaria, former CEO of India-based Balkrishna Tyres Ltd.
“I look forward to managing the Pelmar Group, which has gained world recognition as a market leader in equipment and engineering related to the tire and rubber industry,” Mr. Anglister said. “I intend to enhance Pelmar's technical and technological capabilities worldwide.”
Mr. Anglister has run his own business, Anglister Management Consultancy, since parting ways with Alliance in late 2010.
Pelmar Group was established in 1966 by Jacob Peled as a supplier of new and reconditioned or rebuilt rubber processing machinery as well as technical and technological support, turnkey project evaluations, etc.
Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?
|I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.||
|I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.||
|I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.||
|I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.||
|I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.||
