NEW YORK (April 8, 2014) — Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP) was named O’Reilly Auto Parts’ Vendor of the Year for Technical and Training Support.

The company received the recognition Feb. 1 during the O’Reilly Auto Parts Managers’ Conference in St. Louis.

More than 6,500 O’Reilly team members were in attendance for the presentation of the award, which recognizes suppliers that go above and beyond in their efforts to train O’Reilly’s staff, SMP said.

“SMP consistently excels at training our team members and installers on their product lines,” said David Wilbanks, vice president of merchandise for O’Reilly. “In fact, we’ve received comments from our professional customer base remarking how high SMP has set the bar with these training classes—no selling, no gimmicks, just solid training.”
