ASHBURN, Va. (March 11, 2014) — Virginia Tire & Auto will host racing legend and Firestone brand spokesman Mario Andretti on April 3 at its Ashburn location.
Mr. Andretti, named Driver of the Century by the Associated Press, has achieved racing’s greatest heights, Virginia Tire said. As a longtime test driver for Firestone, Mr. Andretti helped develop the racing tire that led to many of his most notable achievements, including victories in the Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500, three Champ Car National Championships and the F1 World Championship.
“We are thrilled to have Firestone spokesman Mario Andretti visit Virginia Tire & Auto,” said Julie Holmes, Virginia Tire & Auto.
“Like Mr. Andretti’s commitment to automotive excellence and accomplishment, we are committed to providing every customer with a winning experience in car care and being a trusted source for any Firestone tire needs.”
Mr. Andretti will be at Virginia Tire’s Ashburn store from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on April 3 to represent the Firestone brand, a relationship that has spanned four decades. Virginia Tire will provide food, entertainment and prizes to those in attendance.
Family-owned and -operated, Virginia Tire & Auto has been in business since 1976. The Ashburn location opened in October 2013 as the dealership’s 12th facility in northern Virginia.
Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?
|I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.||
|I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.||
|I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.||
|I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.||
|I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.||
