COLLEYVILLE, Texas (Feb. 4, 2014) — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has opened elections for its 2014 ASA board of directors.
Until Feb. 28, all regular/shop members and corporate members in good standing are eligible to vote for one position of general director, the ASA said. Mechanical shop members may vote for the ASA mechanical division director, and collision shop members may vote for the ASA collision division director.
Voting is open for ASA members 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 5 p.m. CST on Friday, Feb. 28, according to the ASA. They may access the secure voting site through the association’s website. Members will need their member identification numbers and three-digit personal identification numbers to vote.
Candidate bios are available on the website, as well as in the February issue of AutoInc., the official publication of the ASA.
Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?
|I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.||
|I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.||
|I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.||
|I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.||
|I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.||
