BURLINGTON, Ontario (Jan. 20, 2014) — TriCan Tire Distributors Inc. has acquired the wholesale distribution business of Kipling Tire Co. Ltd., expanding its presence in southern Ontario.

TriCan Tire, a subsidiary of American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. (ATD), did not disclose financial terms of the deal. Etobicoke, Ontario-based Kipling Tire’s retail business is not affected by the deal, the parties said.

This is ATD/TriCan’s second acquisition since being acquired itself by ATD in late 2012.

Last May TriCan acquired Regional Tire Distributors Inc. of Burlington, Ontario, for about $62.5 million, adding five distribution centers in Ontario and four in the Atlantic Provinces, and this past December it bought Wholesale Tire Distributors Inc.
