QINGDAO, China (Jan. 8, 2014) — Mesnac Co. Ltd. has formed a global tooling division to consolidate its operations in the U.S., United Kingdom, Slovakia and China into one business unit called Mesnac Tooling Division.
The division will provide tooling support to Mesnac’s tire building machine divisions in China, Slovakia and to its subsidiary, Beijing Jingyie.
William Jones will serve as president of the new division. He has 32 years of tooling industry experiences and was the managing director of Wyko Tire Technology Inc.’s United Kingdom operation.
Glen Earnheart will be general manager of Wyko’s engineering operation in Greenback, Tenn. He also will serve as vice president of the tooling division. Wang Yanshu, general manager of the Mesnac Tire Building Division, will be a vice president of the tooling division.
Zheng Jiangjia, Mesnac’s executive vice president, said that consolidating the firm’s various tooling operations into one business unit will enable Wyko’s technology to enhance greatly the performance of its tire building machines.
Greenburg, Tenn.-based Wyko is a developer and maker of tire-building drums and associated ancillaries.
Titan International and the United Steelworkers union have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce seeking relief from OTR tire imports from China, India and Sri Lanka. What’s your opinion?
|I wholeheartedly support their action – something needs to be done.||
|I think it’s a bad idea that could inevitably tie the hands of domestic tire makers.||
|I oppose any duties against tire importers—they only raise costs for distributors and make it harder to obtain inventory.||
|I’m kind of on the fence and not sure what’s right, but need more information before deciding.||
|I don’t really care whether or not relief is granted.||
